Using documentary photography to weave a loose narrative of the history of Korean culture and development, this series of images works to allow the ordinary and mundane little things to shine through, reminding us of where we are, where we’re going, and where we’ve been. The items in the photographs are small objects found commonly throughout Korea. But by photographing them and showing them together, they take on a new context in relation to history, culture, perception, and each other.
Often times it is the little things which are the most telling about a person, or place, and I feel these objects and small gestures explain a great deal about Korea, even from an outsider’s perspective.
